Marvel had the number one selling comic for April with an all-new Black Panther.  Black Panther was the first black superhero in mainstream American comics and made his debut in the popular Fantastic Four comic book series, in 1966. Also hitting the best sellers list from Marvel comics were several spin-off stories from Star Wars; Star Wars: Poe Dameron, Star Wars Special: C-3P0, Darth Vader and the original Star Wars title all made the top-ten selling comic books list for the month of April.

DC Comics had a few titles in the top ten best selling list as well, with Dark Knight III: The Master Race, Batman and Rob Williams and Jim Lee's Harley Quinn & the Suicide Squad April fool’s Special. There was not much in the way of news coming out of DC Comics as they are gearing up for the Rebirth releases in June.

Aftershock and Black Mask Comics had a couple of sell-out titles that went to second and third printings. Black Mask's 4 Kids Walk Into a Bank #1 went to a third printing and Aftershocks Rough Riders #1 went to a second printing.

A big hit in the month of April was coloring books for adults. This new fad is continuously growing among comic fans, leading to a whole new agenda for comic book lovers. Image Comics along with all of the comic book publishers produced several coloring books based on popular comic book series.
