DC Comics New 52 comic book series began in September 2011 and was one of DC Comics Most Popular Event’s of the 2000’s. The New 52 was initiated after the conclusion of The Flashpoint crossover storyline, which also led to DC Comics cancelling all its current titles… and then introducing 52 All-New Comic Book Titles, starting as new number ones!
Following the conclusion of Flashpoint many of DC Comic’s titles were cancelled and given a “soft” reboot in the new universe. DC Comic’s stated that while some of the major heroes, superheroes and villains may undergo changes, DC’s history would remain intact.
The New 52 comic books introduced fans to new characters and treats fans to some classic heroes from the Wildstorm and Vertigo imprints. The relaunch also brought about some changes in DC Comics publishing format, for example DC will now release digital comics and print comic books on the same day, also DC made some changes to the Universe and modernized some of the great heroes and superheroes.
The most popular comic book coming out of The New 52 was The Justice League # 1. Pre-orders for Justice League # 1 exceeded 200,000 copies and the comic went back to the publishers a whopping four times and was the highest selling comic book in 2011!
Another of the new comic books released by DC Comics include comic book sensation Jonah Hex starring in All-Star Western. All-Star Western comic books were well received by DC Comic fans, in fact All-Star Western not only brought back old DC Comic fans, it gained a whole bunch more!
